Shapes, area and the angle facts

Write the formula first, then the numbers. Method marks live in that first line.
What you need to know
- Angles on a straight line add to 180°. Angles at a point add to 360°. Opposite angles are equal.
- Triangle: interior angles add to 180°. Equilateral = all sides and angles equal (60°).
- Parallel lines: corresponding angles equal, alternate angles equal, co-interior add to 180°.
- Area of rectangle = L × B. Triangle = ½bh. Circle: C = 2πr, A = πr². Use π = 22/7 or 3.14 as told.
- Volume of cuboid = L × B × H. Capacity in litres: 1,000 cm³ = 1 litre.
- Pythagoras (right-angled triangle only): a² + b² = c², c is the hypotenuse, the side opposite 90°.
The mistake to avoid
Pythagoras is not for every triangle — only right-angled ones. Check for the square symbol or a 90°.
