What you need to know

• The Bible: Old Testament (before Jesus) and New Testament (Jesus and the early Church).
• Creation: Genesis 1 — God speaks, and it is. Human beings are made in God’s image, which is why dignity is not a government gift.
• Abraham: called, promised a land and descendants, asked to trust. Faith is the word.
• Moses: the Exodus, Sinai, the Ten Commandments. Law after rescue, not instead of it.
• Jesus: born in Bethlehem, baptised, tempted, taught (parables, Sermon on the Mount), crucified, raised.
• The Golden Rule: do to others what you want them to do to you. The two great commandments: love God, love your neighbour.
